IMPERFECT PASSION
Synopsis
Set within the rolling hills of Kentucky 's Bluegrass Region, Imperfect Partners in Passion is the story of a disillusioned divorcee who dares to take a gamble on an Internet date and connects with a down-to-earth construction worker who hammers away at her well-insulated, emotional walls. After, that is, she rescues him from bondage.
LUCY REESE, a feisty real-estate agent, wants to bury a painful past that has left her mistrustful of men and unsure of her own ability to make the right choice. She's determined to regain her decision-making confidence and pursue a romantic relationship without setting up roadblocks or bolting. She joins O.L.D., an on-line dating service, with the high hopes of finding the man of her dreams. Instead she finds Jack--the beseeching eyes in her off-line, consecutive nightmares.
Heir to a fortune, JACK BEATY is a top-notch carpenter who doesn't care one iota about his fortune and tries--at all cost--to avoid the problems associated with it. He lives a simple life and just wants to find a good, sensible woman. Instead, he finds himself kidnapped and handcuffed to a bed by a woman suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Lucy and Jack meet on-line and after chatting for over a month they agree to meet in person. Lucy, a twenty-nine-year-old leggy blonde living in Rising Sun, Indiana, drives to their designated meeting place to meet thirty-three-year-old Jack; a six-four, one-hundred-ninety-pound hunk living in Russell Springs, Ken tucky.
Forty-five minutes later, she painfully concedes she's been stood up. Halfway out the door, she receives a call from an unknown woman asking to speak to Jack. Claiming to be Jack's ex-girlfriend, she informs Lucy she's making one huge mistake meeting Jack and warns her to stay away. Wanting no part of trouble, Lucy heads home vowing to forget all about Jack Beaty.
But for the next two nights, Lucy suffers nightmares in which a pair of cobalt, blue eyes pleads for her help. Believing her nightmares and the missing Jack are somehow related, she impulsively decides to search for the missing Jack.
Her search eventually leads to ROSE, a voluptuous twenty-year-old who drugs and kidnaps Jack when he refuses to see her again. Suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder, Rose's alter personality, Laura, sets into motion, a deadly plan of seduction and manipulation to take what isn't hers.
B ILLY, a tattooed hood from Nine Mile Road , shows up unannounced at Rose's with the intent of reigniting their sexual relationship. Furious over Jack's presence, he plots to eliminate his unwanted competition.
Lucy finds Jack and rescues him from bondage. They crash in her tin-can-of-a-car and are forced to flee on foot through cornfields and forests. Thrown together, tempers flare and passions ignite as they fight for their freedom and run for their lives.
Rose and Billy band together to recapture Jack and eradicate Lucy. They are about to pounce when Jack and Lucy disappear into the shadowed interior of an abandoned, three-story barn. Billy barricades the barn doors and lies in wait until first light to strike.
Meanwhile, SA M P ATTON, a battle-tested former Marine and Jack's buddy, receives a frantic phone call from Lucy informing him of Jack's kidnapping, escape, and of their frantic flight back to her house. Sam gears up and heads to Lucy's house to cover his buddy's back.
KATHERINE B ONNET, a gold-star Marine-mom and Lucy's neighbor is rudely awakened by Sam pounding on the wrong front door. Hearing Lucy's name, she opens the door and is blindsided by a tragic past that rushes in to consume her.
At daybreak, B illy sets the barn on fire. Jack is drugged and tossed into the trunk of B illy's car and Lucy is locked into the burning barn. She escapes in an old, yellow pickup truck and chases after the recaptured Jack.
Meanwhile, Katherine and Sam get weary of waiting and join in the hunt for Lucy and Jack. Along the way, Sam is shocked when he realizes Rose is his long-lost, adopted sister.
Lucy catches up them but only succeeds in getting herself recaptured. Billy's tired of their cat-and-mouse game and decides to kill all three of them at the Indiana Kentucky Terminal Bridge .
On the bridge, Jack and Lucy leap to their freedom as Rose's alter personality, Laura, chooses to make her presence known. Billy attacks Rose and tosses her into the Ohio River . She's picked up by a ferry and taken to a nearby hospital. Sam and Katherine arrive at the hospital and Sam is devastated when he meets Laura for the first time. Then they return to Katherine's house and wait for word on Lucy and Jack's fate.
That same night, a body matching the description of Billy is found floating face-down in the Ohio River .
Jack and Lucy survive their plunge into the river and find shelter along its bank. Deep inside a tiny cave, they spend the night in one another's arms where they feel the thunder and chase the lightening from the sky with their sizzling chemistry.
The next day, they arrive at Katherine's where the four friends reunite and swap tales; believing Billy to be dead. Lucy goes home that evening and takes Bandit on a walk around her private lake while waiting for Jack's arrival. She strolls down a short pier to watch the sun's rays bleed out onto the lake, catching it on fire.
Hearing the voice of Satan, she jerks around and is horrified to see Billy--alive and well--standing on his throne of madness, his evil voice demanding Jack's whereabouts. Bandit reappears and launches for Billy's throat. He hits him full-force and sends him flying across the pier into Lucy. Together, they fall into the fiery waters of the lake.
Jack arrives on the scene and hears Lucy's scream. He dives into the lake and rescues her from the clutches of evil.
As for Billy...it was finished. The beast was thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur; the fate of eternal damnation that awaits all non-believers.
Four days later, Jack picks up his partner in passion for their very first date which takes them down the road where true love doesn't come by finding the perfect partner but by learning to see the imperfect partner perfectly.
